We pick them on friend’s farms.
A jam contains more sugar than fruit to produce a good ‘set’ whilst conserve has more fruit than sugar so the resulting ‘set’ is not as firm.
A fruit butter contains little, or in some cases no added sugar, honey can also be used as a sugar replacement.
A jam contains the fruit whilst a jelly is thickened juice.
We only use natural preservatives in the form of vinegars, lemon juice and sugar.
No! We don’t believe boiled, rendered animals need adding to our ingredients.
Most of our products are suitable for vegetarians and vegans, only curds and those preserves containing ‘real ale’ are not.
The sugar we use is either ‘home grown’ from Silver Spoon or Fair Trade from Tate & Lyle.
We are very careful where we pick our fruit and berries from, foraging areas that haven’t been sprayed.
We have a significant amount of knowledge, researching all our ingredients throughly.
